Curriculum
Because every business or individual have different levels of knowledge and experience in the sign and graphics business, the vehicle wrap curriculum should be built around their background.
I believe that the best and quickest way to learn the vehicle wrap business is through one on one instruction within your natural business environment, experimenting on your own software, equipment and materials.
When you schedule your personal training we'll discuss the details of your current knowledge, level of expertise and future expectations. Based on the information you supply, I will tailor your custom training curriculum which will address subjects you need most help and knowledge in. This will insure you'll get the most from your training without spending time on material you are already well trained or commutable with.
What is covered?
Everything except equipment training (you should have this one covered by your vendor). More specifically, here are the subjects you can choose from:
- The fleet & vehicle graphics market - what drive the demand?
- Software: Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop basic concepts and tools.
- Design tools - Software, templates, clip and images resources. (demonstration and samples).
- Pre Design - Designing in 2D for 3D world, proper measuring technique, creating custom outlines
- Vehicle Design Basics - Color coordination, image & fonts selection, positioning, designing for easy install.
- Design - Understanding scaling and resampling (hands-on exercise), color management (basic), masking in PhotoShop (hands-on exercise), workspace preparations (hands-on exercise), working with layers, applying graphics to a template (hands-on exercise), Getting organized: Working in a group.
- Post design - Preparing customer’s proposal and installer’s “blue-print”, graphics tiling techniques, partial wrap and contour cutting.
- Pre Installation - Choosing the proper media and advantages/disadvantage of each, installation tools and supplies.
- Marketing - Who buy vehicle wrap and where are they? how to sell vehicle wrap in good or bad economy?
- Installation - Surface preparation, performing "dry-run", vinyl installation techniques, finish touch.
How long does it take to learn it all?
It really depends on the student. From previous experience the full training can be completed in just 3 full days (9:00am - 12:00, 1:00pm - 4:00pm). Depending on the subjects you choose to be trained on, the training period can be as short as one day.
How much does it cost?
My fee is based on a per day training session of $800.00 + traveling (flight, drive) and lodging expenses (I'm based in Atlanta, Georgia).
How many people can join the training?
As many as you wish, but because this training involves a lot of "hands on" practice I suggest no more then 5 attendees.

I've attached some pics of the truck and the boat for you to take a look at. You were right, the boat was not for beginners, but I got it done. It was very complicated, and I wanted to walk away several times, but in the end it was worth it. We wrapped the console, the trailer and even the back of the boat. The boat will be in a huge tournament this coming weekend, so we're looking forward to the reaction of the public. The skills that I learned from you in the training were vital in the success of both wrap installations. I am still a little shaky on the design, but after the truck and the boat, and the tips I learned in your training class, I feel like we can do an install on anything that comes in the door.
I hope all is well, and I'll talk to you soon.

Your approach and presentation were great. Ron conveyed to me that you had some nice ideas. To get s Ron's attention like you did for 2-3 hrs says a lot about your service and you.
I'll keep you posted.
Thanks again for your time.

Hi:
I had a nice meeting with Roy and Tom yesterday. I am sure Tom will fill you in. Roy brought many good ideas to the table. I hope that Image Transform can gain momentum in the industry, which will allow for more ink and equipment purchases from HP. I am sure he will share with you many of the things we discussed. I encourage you to have him chair some seminars at the trade shows, as his information gives a straight forward approach to problem areas in Grand Format printing.
Best Regards,
